MultiLit is a leading provider of effective literacy instruction in Australasia and our mission is to ensure all children learn to read. MultiLit publishes a range of education and literacy programs and products and supports these with comprehensive professional development courses targeting schools and teachers. MultiLit also operates literacy centres, providing tuition to students who have difficulties in becoming skilled readers.
As an innovative company growing rapidly, MultiLit has launched a series of initiatives to expand across its major business units. These include:
A B2C online bookshop – The Bookshop by MultiLit
Two publishing imprints – MRU Press and Putto Press
A higher education initiative to supplement teacher education – The Academy for the Science of Instruction
Regional expansion with the launch of new offices and Literacy Centres in Brisbane and Perth.
Objectives of the role
The Marketing Director shall provide strategic marketing leadership and execution of marketing strategies across all MultiLit business units. The objective is to ensure a coherent and connected presence of MultiLit products and services in the marketplace, supporting customer understanding and ultimately sales expansion and growth. This requires communicating a nuanced value proposition of a complex portfolio of products and services.
The Marketing Director shall develop and oversee the overall marketing and brand strategy for MultiLit. In addition, the Marketing Director will be responsible for the creation of B2B and B2C strategies and campaigns for each of the MultiLit business units, with the objective of maintaining the company’s premium brand position and driving sustainable revenue growth.
This full-time role will be based within the Marketing and Sales team, reporting to the COO and Publisher. It is based in our Macquarie Park office.
Accountabilities

Responsibilities:

Leading the development of a coherent marketing and brand strategy that reflects the values of the MultiLit business.
Develop and implement marketing plan for the overarching MultiLit brand, sub-brands/business units and individual product lines.
Work with MultiLit’s creative team, designers and agencies to create and implement campaigns and creative content.
Manage brand and marketing collateral, including websites, across the MultiLit business.
Lead and direct the Digital Marketing Specialist in executing campaigns and other marketing activities.
Work with the Sales Director and state-based General Managers to provide support for ongoing sales and marketing initiatives.
Develop and lead special marketing projects as required, such as branding guidelines update, the annual Catalogue preparation, website refreshes, events etc.
Manage partnership and sponsorship activities with MultiLit’s partners.
Identify and develop new marketing opportunities for MultiLit and its business units.
Develop strategic reporting that analyses and demonstrates the effectiveness of marketing activity.
Qualifications and experience
Tertiary qualifications in Business and/or Marketing.
Demonstrated competence and experience in strategic marketing, preferably for a national or international organisation.
Demonstrated experience in managing digital marketing campaigns and activities, including database marketing, organic and paid social and search campaigns, and utilising analytics to optimise activities.
Well-developed, persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office, WordPress and other website platforms, social media platforms, CRM and email marketing platforms. Previous experience with the Hubspot platform will be highly regarded.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively across a matrix structure with various portfolios and staff members within the business.
Knowledge of the Australian education landscape, particularly the school sector, will be highly regarded.
