Marketing & Engagement Executive (Maternity Cover)

What you’ll bring to the team:
The SEA LIFE TRUST is a leading marine conservation charity dedicated to protecting the world’s oceans through innovative global projects, impactful campaigns, and the operation of two marine animal sanctuaries: the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in the UK and the Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Iceland.
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Marketing & Engagement Executive to join our dynamic core charity team on a 14-month maternity cover contract. Your primary mission will be to generate income and raise awareness for our marine sanctuaries and conservation initiatives. This role is essential, supporting the Senior Head of Global Fundraising & Partnerships during simultaneous maternity leaves within the team.
You will be pivotal in maintaining and enhancing engagement with Charity Champions across Merlin attractions, including the SEA LIFE aquarium network. Your responsibilities will include preparing and publishing weekly updates and monthly bulletins, organising high-profile events like the annual Global Beach Clean, and supporting various fundraising activities. Additionally, you will represent the SEA LIFE TRUST at key events and meetings, fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote our conservation efforts.
You will also play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Head of Global Fundraising & Partnerships and the charity’s Director by undertaking administrative tasks and coordinating meetings and reports. Working closely with the core charity team and Merlin teammates, you will ensure efficient and collaborative operations, contributing to our mission to protect the world’s oceans through increased engagement and income generation.
Ideally this role will be based at our new office in Southwark or our Poole Head Office, however, so long as you are commutable to one of our attractions or offices, there is potential for us to be flexible on location.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong understanding of social media marketing and its role in supporting charity initiatives.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working in a global, cross-cultural environment.
• High attention to detail, flexibility, and resilience.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and approachable.
• Experienced and competent with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Passionate about ocean conservation and marine animal welfare.
• Committed to the mission, values, and objectives of SEA LIFE TRUST.
