The Programme
Are you looking for an Internship that offers varied and interesting opportunities? At Smiths Detection we have a fantastic opportunity to earn as you learn and provide a real-world introduction into Finance.
We are seeking a Marketing Intern with a positive and proactive attitude to join our team for a large technology and engineering business based in Hemel Hempstead.
It’s an excellent opportunity for a bright and driven individual to get an insight into a career in Marketing.
Over the course of the internship the individual will gain a thorough understanding of the business, with time spent with various teams, and exposure to various roles within a marketing function.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to

  • Assisting with the initiating, monitoring, communicating and close-out phases of product development projects, including contributing to the completion of Product Lifecycle Process (PLP) Gates where applicable.
  • Support marketing activities including research on competitor product attributes, customer requirements gathering, and market trend analysis.
  • Acting under direction to coordinate specific product development/marketing activities including communicating with cross-functional stakeholders within Sales and Operations.
  • Support with the development and maintenance of technical datasheets and product marketing documentation.
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of product performance tracking tools
  • Contribute to monthly Product performance analysis and support with the completion and tracking of corrective/preventative actions.
  • Support the effective execution of project controls related to the initiating, planning, monitoring & controlling, communicating and close-out phases of all projects in their assigned portfolio.
  • Support the completion of timely, accurate and standardised project reporting.
  • Ensure individual compliance with company policies for Ethics, Health, Safety and Environment.

About You

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSE or equivalent at grade 4-9
  • Level 2 in Maths and English
