About the role
The Geovation marketing and events manager is responsible for planning and execution of all marketing & communications across external and internal channels to increase awareness of Geovation, grow the community, and drive applications to the different programmes in support of revenue objectives.
This includes planning and delivery of promotional campaigns, managing the delivery of an ongoing pipeline of digital content and ensuring all marketing activity supports growth of the Geovation community and wider ecosystem. The role is responsible for maintaining and developing brand standards and managing collaboration with partners, including Ordnance Survey and Registers of Scotland comms functions.
Geovation has a fast paced and entrepreneurial way of working – we work quickly to take advantage of opportunities and operate a test & learn approach to our work, mirroring the start-ups we work with.
Some of the responsibilities will include

Content Marketing

  • Developing a content plan and schedule which covers website, social and email marketing channels
  • Writing compelling social media posts and engaging visuals/graphics using tools such as Canva
  • Scheduling and publishing content across platforms and monitoring performance metrics
  • Responding to comments, messages and engaging with followers as needed
  • Working quickly to react to content marketing opportunities, creating reactive content or turning around new content in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the creation and production of a monthly email newsletter
  • Supporting the team with adhoc email campaigns as needed
  • Tracking email metrics to improve performance

Website management

  • Ensuring the website is up to date and accurately reflects the work of Geovation
  • Creating, updating and publishing pages, content and blogs
  • Work closely with developers on backend improvements, new functionality, site speed optimization and bug fixes, and ensuring compliance with accessibility legislation
  • Providing strategic direction for future website development and enhancements that algin with Geovation business goals
  • Develop an SEO strategy

Campaign Planning & Execution

  • Planning and delivering marketing campaigns that promote key activities, including open calls for the accelerator programme, awards and events
  • Developing campaign messaging, collateral and content across channels
  • Tracking campaign performance and providing insights for future improvements

Communication & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal colleagues for integrated planning.
  • Liaise partners to support their marketing needs and take advantage of mutual marketing opportunities
  • Work in collaboration with the OS marketing team to ensure communication and alignment on brand, marketing and PR

Marketing Communications Projects

  • Lead on projects as needed, including internal comms planning and brand development

Events

  • Work with the team to plan, organise and promote events
  • Prepare relevant communications and social to promote
  • Collect relevant qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve events.
  • Suggest and implement improvements

About you

You will have the following skills

  • Ability to work quickly whilst maintaining high quality standards of output and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in agile manner
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling content for multiple channels
  • Proficiency with design tools like Canva, with an eye for good design and adhering to brand standards
  • Strong analytical skills to measure performance and draw data-driven insights
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with the world of innovation and startups would be a plus but is not a requirement

Location: Based in our London hub in the heart of Clerkenwell.
Security
OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
