Description:

DESCRIPTION

The role requires the provision of effective operational business support to the execution desk. He/she shall ensure that all Middle Office functions and processes across all asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Funds, FX and Structured Products) are carried out accurately and efficiently. The incumbent will perform day-to-day trade processing and control activities and also participate in system & process enhancements and ad-hoc projects. He or she will be the key contact point between the Markets Traders/Sales, Front Office, and Back Office Operations.

  • Process transactions of various financial instruments offered by the Bank, e.g. equities, bonds, funds, FX products, structured products, OTC derivatives, etc.
  • Perform post trade activities, e.g. order flow management, trade matching, exception handling and issue investigation, etc.
  • Handle queries from Front Office, Operations and external counterparties/brokers
  • Perform various reconciliations on trades, nostros position, cash balance, etc.
  • Conduct regular control checks and produce relevant reports
  • Participate and support ad-hoc projects to enhance and enrich the Bank’s product offering, Markets systems and MO processes
  • Highlight day-to-day trading processing, reconciliation and execution issues for appropriate resolution measures
  • Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements
  • Regular assessment of the function’s practices to mitigate associated risks arising out of and relating to the said function
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant higher educational and professional background with ideally 1-3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in middle office or trading floor support
  • Good knowledge in accounting, banking and execution processes and in investment products (Equities, Fixed Income, Funds, FX and Structured Products)
  • Good knowledge of financial and investment products, particularly equity, bond and fund products
  • Good understanding of order management processes and core banking systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Possess simple programming skill (e.g. Visual Basics)
  • Project management skill would be an advantage
  • Proficient in business Mandarin would be an advantage
