Description:

Explain clearly, and with sound rationale, health information relating to complex safeguarding children issues to other MASH professionals. To offer healthy child service specific safeguarding advice and expertise to the MASH team and partner agencies. To facilitate the timely exchange of relevant health information using professional analysis to inform safeguarding assessments and decision making in accordance with information sharing guidelines. To provide case specific consultation and advice in relation to health needs for Childrens Social Care team.
Contribute to the MASH Performance Framework by assisting in the evaluation and analysis of the Healthy Child Service contribution to the MASH process To ensure timely and appropriate information sharing between MARAC team and Healthy Child Service regarding Police high risk domestic incidents. To signpost partner agencies within MASH to appropriate relevant health staff within the health system. To contribute towards the quarterly report to CCS and the CCG as requested by the CCS Named Nurse via the normal reporting route. Review gather and analyse available health information identifying any additional health agencies involved in the childs care.
To actively participate, share health information and contribute to decision making, analysing highly complex information to appropriately inform strategy meetings and risk assessments within the MASH To ensure relevant information and outcomes of strategy meetings/discussions in the MASH are shared back into Systm1 and where relevant, the named health practitioner is notified in a timely manner of MASH contact, activity and outcome of discussion. Ensure the CCS Named Professional is aware of serious cases/incidents or concerns involving CCS, to ensure continued health contribution in the development of the MASH. To ensure named professional is aware of concerns regarding practice to be considered for discussion with the provider organisation or directly with the CCG in the case of primary care. Contribute to the evaluation of MASH processes from a healthy child service perspective to ensure safe and appropriate information sharing within the MASH and across the wider health economy.
To contribute where required to audits within MASH to aid development of the performance framework. To contribute to the planning and facilitate the delivery of training and learning events. To maintain high standards of record keeping and documentation on cases where information has been shared. The post holder will access safeguarding and clinical supervision from within CCS Safeguarding Children Team and as per the CCS Safeguarding Supervision policy.
The post holder is expected to work in collaboration with multi-agency partners to promote effective information sharing and assessment to contribute to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. To maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the healthy child service by attending a monthly locality meeting and undertaking a working day once every 6-8 weeks within the healthy child service. To maintain knowledge and expertise on local and national policy in relation to safeguarding children. Ensures that own personal and professional development maintains a high level of expertise in relation to safeguarding children.
Communication To establish good working relationships and work collaboratively with social care, Police and other partner agencies, promoting effective safe communication networks. Communicate effectively in case and strategy discussions to inform decision making regarding thresholds and risk. Contribute to the safe and effective running of MASH health ensuring timely and effective communication with the wider safeguarding team, utilising resources efficiently. Ability to recognise when professional challenge is required and escalate concerns in line with the resolving professional disagreements guidance, ensuring a clear focus of the risk to the child/children is maintained.
People Management Maintaining own professional development and requirement to take part in appraisal and management supervision. To provide daily leadership to the MASH health team ensuring effective coordination of workload and facilitation of visiting staff. Clinical and Practice Governance Observe and maintain strict confidentiality with regards to any patient/family/staff/records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Any data that is taken/shared as part of a phone call or transported, faxed or transferred electronically must be undertaken with regard to the Trust Information Governance and Information Security policies.
The post holder must adhere to the Trust risk assessment and risk management processes. The post holder must adhere to infection control policies and procedures. It is a condition of your employment that you are currently registered with the NMC and it is your responsibility to maintain your professional registration. Undertake mandatory training and any other training relevant to the role as required by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
The post holder must participate in clinical and other audits as required. Participate in regular safeguarding supervision. The post holder is required to participate in relevant emergency preparedness process for their team
