Responsibilities:

This master’s thesis focuses on the experimental realization and validation of a photonics-based rain sensor. Cutting-edge technologies are applied to analyze the effects of the interaction of light with raindrops. Based on a novel disdrometer concept a measurement system shall be realized and used for laboratory experiments and measurements in the field together with an external industry partner.

Your responsibilities will involve the following activities:

  • Support setting up optical laboratory experiments for precipitation measurements.
  • Implement the automatization of the experiments.
