We are seeking a Material Characterisation Lab Process Development Engineer I on a permanent basis to join us on our mission.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Level 8 Bachelors Degree in Polymer Engineering/Science or equivalent (240 credits)
  • Ideally 1-2 years experiences as an Engineer supporting Characterization or Problem Solving preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Good technical capabilities and ideally experience in Material Characterization Analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

To provide support to New Product Development and Production Unit engineers through the testing of components and materials for process development projects and on-site investigations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routinely writing and maintaining test methods, test protocols and procedures forms an integral part of the job.
  • Analysis and testing of materials and components using the following equipment: optical microscopy, contact angle goniometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Thermogravimetric Analyser Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrometer, Melt Flow Rate Indexer, Nanoindentation & Scratch Tester, Scanning Electron Microscope, Dynamic Mechanical Analyser, Rotational Rheometer and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy.
  • In addition to testing, the job will involve sample preparation, collection of data, statistical analysis, results interpretation, and report writing.
  • Test equipment troubleshooting, monthly and yearly maintenance checks will be required.
  • Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health, and safety issues to their manager.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibit excellent team player characteristics and builds strong collaborative relationships accoss the organization.
  • Manages multiple complex investigations. Proactively negotiates with stakeholders to prioritize when necessary and effectively communicates testing lead times as required.
  • Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Understands and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems
