Job Summary :
Coordinates incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts that include functions such as warehousing, shop and delivery services to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules. Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirements.

Essential Duties:

  • Loads, unloads, stores, transports and furnishes craft workers with materials, tools, equipment and supplies. Arranges for excess material to be returned to vendor for credit.
  • Operates equipment and machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, power tools and tampers.
  • Assists plumbers, welders, sheet metal workers, or HVAC workers if qualified.
  • Cleans work areas and restocks supplies and material as necessary.
  • Maintains a clean, safe loading dock, office, job site and tool cage yard space with an identified place for equipment in order to provide quick identification of missing or damaged equipment.
  • Investigates unreported after-hours and weekend entries and escalates where appropriate.
  • Covers and protects equipment and materials from weather conditions.
  • Maintains records of back orders and communicate with vendors to make sure shortages are shipped as soon as possible.
  • Coordinates the repairs and replacement of tools.
  • Manages spare tools and makes recommendations of how many are needed, develops usage guidelines and ensures spares are ready for use.
  • Utilizes computerized or manual inventory record of company and/or rental tools and equipment.
  • Completes damage reports for shipping agent and returns damaged goods to vendors.
  • Receives material and equipment; compares it to approved submittal and records information on a receiving log.
  • May operate company owned vehicles to facilitate material transporting operations while adhering to all company safety requirements. Complies with the requirements of the company vehicle driving policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Material Coordinator
  • Associate’s degree in Purchasing or Inventory Management is preferred.
  • Must have valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Must be certified to operate equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, power tools and tampers as required.
  • Rigger/Signal Person Certification is required.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, ability to type and compose detailed emails to effectively communicate with the project team, with attention to accurately and with proper grammar. General knowledge of PC operating systems.
