Description:

As the Materials Controller you will be responsible for the placement and scheduling of purchase orders for a range of materials, including chemicals, facing, packaging and consumable items used in our manufacturing process at our 4 UK sites and to maintain the correct inventory levels of these materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Review MRP and react to changes in raw material requirements to ensure continuity of supply and correct levels of inventory are maintained.
  • Identify raw material requirements, raise purchase orders in SAP and distribute to suppliers.
  • Ensure that PO data and pricing is correct, referring to price lists issued by the business.
  • Liaise with suppliers and hauliers on a daily basis, expedite purchase orders, ensuring required delivery times are met.
  • Liaise with Freight forwarders with regards to the arrival and custom clearance of imported raw materials from overseas.
  • Record and maintain shipping schedule to ensure full visibility of shipping status is available at all times. Schedule deliveries as required, keeping additional storage/demurrage costs to a minimum.
  • Create and maintain inbound delivery monitor in SAP to provide Logistics with full visibility of incoming goods and enable accurate receipting in of materials.
  • Liaise with internal departments, Planning, Finance, Production and Logistics and provide support and communication to aid the smooth running of the business.
  • Support the business in the event of supplier service/quality issues.
  • Review and resolve supplier invoices discrepancies.
  • Attend both internal and external supplier meetings if required.
