Description:

HAVE YOU PROVEN EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH METAL FABRICATION DESIGN OR TOOLING DESIGN?

This is a challenging role where every project requires understanding the science behind how metal behaves during deformation to being rolled and deformed – taking the customer’s needs and undertaking the appropriate design and calculations to provide the desired end product.
You will be designing die tooling for heavy machinery plant – seeing projects through from concept to commissioning.

Specifically, you will:

  • Design new tooling machinery taking into account tight tolerances and material deformation and yielding properties.
  • Provide technical support during design, manufacture, and through to commissioning.
  • Be involved in sales concept meetings to provide input into quotes and tenders.

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be a tertiary qualified engineer
  • Have proven design experience working with metal material properties – metal deflection, deformation, yielding, and tight tolerances.
  • Have proven ability in mathematics and engineering calculations.
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD
  • Have an understanding of manufacturing fabrication processes
  • Be a genuine people person with strong communication skills who works well with others

You will be a self-starter, diligent in your work and a natural problem solver who just gets on with it, being comfortable working in a team or working autonomously.
