Description:

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:

2 yrs minimum experience in a comparable role. Demonstrated understanding of supply forecasting, budgeting, and sterile technique is needed.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Materials Management or relevant field is preferred. Previous experience in OSHA safety standards preferred.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skill required. Able to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities:

THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE ROLE.

Responsible for maintaining inventory, stocking and storage of products required for clinical operations. Collaborates with necessary parties to determine supply needs, arranges procurement of materials and reconciles data post case. Receives, stocks and manages departmental deliveries and supplies. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ, eye and tissue donation.

  • Must be able to work from 10pm-6am.

Responsibilities:

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies for the Surgical Recovery and Tissue Recovery departments. Follows supply management processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
Utilizes the supply chain and inventory management system (i.e., BTM) and participates in the scheduled physical inventory process.
Collaborates with Team Leaders and/or management for orders/deliveries to ensure optimal product par levels are maintained.
Unpacks, examines and inventories incoming shipments. Documents all incoming supplies and reviews vendor invoices/packing slips for accuracy. Rotates stock to avoid product expiration.
Returns damaged or outdated items, records shortages, and notifies manager of outstanding issues.
Interfaces with vendor partners when sending equipment for repairs/maintenance and processing equipment back into service.
Responsible for prepacking bags/kits for local ORs for Surgical Recovery and Tissue Recovery departments. Provides logistical case support, as needed.
Verifies temperature monitoring of all freezers, refrigerators and supply rooms are documented accurately. Maintains and verifies documentation accuracy.
Coordinates and maintains equipment to include documentation, transportation, cleaning and sterilization in accordance with organizational policies as well as manufacturers specifications.
Ensures kidney pump data is downloaded post-case.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area (including refrigerators, freezers, and sinks) in accordance with organizational, regulatory and safety standards.
Ensures the proper documentation and disposal of biohazard waste according to policy and safety standards.
Responsible for light maintenance work in office, such as changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, touch-up painting, assembling and moving furniture, equipment and supplies.
Assists with set up and break down of conference rooms for staff meetings, BOD meetings and special events including movement of furniture and cleaning of room.
Delivers outgoing mail to post office daily by 4:00 pm.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 10PM-6AM
