Weyerhaeuser Hudson Bay is currently looking for a Materials Manager with Capital Buyer responsibilities. This is a salaried role providing administrative and functional support for on-site storeroom operations and the mill. The position reports directly to the Unit Manager, with a strong dotted line reporting relationship to the Wood Products Canadian Capital and Area Procurement Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for RFP process, bid evaluation, negotiation, contract drafting, and issuing SAP Purchase Orders to material and service providers.
  • Responsible for all investment recovery processes including disposal of surplus inventory.
  • Site contact for Supplier Issue Resolution.
  • Safely process receipts, issue parts, accept deliveries, kit parts, onsite distribution of parts/equipment/supplies, process outgoing shipments, work with vendor managed inventories and suppliers, manage storeroom housekeeping and organization projects, maintain cyclical and bulk inventories, invoice discrepancy resolution.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with all departments, providing superior customer service in finding parts and problem resolutions.
  • Closely partner with the maintenance department to provide superior service in preventive and routine maintenance activities.
  • Ensure transactional and procedural aspects of purchasing and materials management activities are in accordance with Operations Procurement centralized procedures and guidelines, while also supporting mill’s requirements and local processes.
  • Ensure purchasing and storeroom performance show continuous improvement (or sustained high performance) as measured by WP Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and guidelines, while also supporting mill’s local KPIs.
  • Maintain proper storeroom inventory levels and accurately perform inventory cycle counts.
  • Ensure compliance and provide support with environmental and safety initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate purchases and supply management.
  • Providing additional support to the Stores department and others as needed.
  • Train associates and vendors in procedural requirements for site purchasing and materials management and ensure vendor compliance with site safety requirements and orientation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Storeroom and/or Warehouse experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a working knowledge of parts and equipment.
  • SAP Experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviors and experience leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, work ethic, good judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Customer-oriented and focused (both internal and external customers).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
  • Committed to professional ethical standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other software.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours that may include weekends and after hours should operating conditions require it.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or post-secondary education, such as SCMP) in a related field is an asset.
  • Experience with Capital Projects
  • Experience with continuous process improvement.
    Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $92,100 - $134,300 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
