Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Creativity and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management.
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 preferred.
  • Lean Certification preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous engineering role requiring regular customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup for new materials: spec identification and qualification.
  • Quoting new business: material and process identification, cost analysis, feasibility review.
  • Coordinating lab testing to validate new products meet relevant performance requirements.
  • Creating BOMs and manufacturing specifications for product launches.
  • ECNs for material changes or other changes requiring customer approval.
  • Supporting manufacturing with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for customer complaints. Own all actions associated with product design.
  • Any other tasks as assigned to support business needs.
