An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Trust. Are you passionate about supporting your colleagues in their development. Do you want to lead and support a progressive learning environment for all grades of nursing staff, actively promote and contribute to inter-professional learning activities and use your extensive experience and knowledge of clinical education to identify, design and deliver Trust and sector wide staff development programmes in order to manage a high quality learning experience
This key strategic post supports the Head of Nursing for Practice Development & Education in the commissioning and delivery of nursing and midwifery education for the Trust. The post holder will need to
deputise for the Head of Nursing for Practice Development & Education and will manage the Corporate Practice Education Team.
As a Matron for Practice Development & Education, the role is expected to be largely self-managing using their extensive experience and knowledge of clinical education to identify, design and deliver Trust and sector wide staff development programmes in order to manage a high quality learning experience for nursing/midwifery staff at all grades.

The post-holder must have an up to date knowledge of the current demands of clinical education and its impact on service delivery, they must have experience of innovation in education delivery. They will assess and manage the impact of the implementation of programmes, to maximise the Trust’s resources and improve staff retention

  • Leading and supporting a progressive learning environment for all grades of nursing staff.
  • Actively promoting and contributing to inter-professional learning activities across the Trust
  • Providing effective role modelling and leadership by working clinically
  • Providing clinical advice and guidance at the highest level to members of both pre-registration and post registration nursing Practice Education Teams to support education delivery
  • Communicating, negotiating with internal and external stakeholders with regards to education & development for all grades of nursing staff, using persuasive, motivational and reassurance skills.
