Description:

Are you a passionate, hard working, friendly and experienced Mental Health Nurse Leader looking for a new opportunity within Acute care? Looking for a Band 8a Clinical Nurse Leadership role? We are looking for a Matron to join our hospital, covering three of our wards, working alongside both the leadership and ward teams. You will work alongside one other Matron whom covers our other two wards and the Health Based Place of Safety, together to lead high quality care and governance.
You will oversee the governance and quality for both inpatient wards and provide expertise and advice to the clinical team as appropriate. Working closely with the Ward Manager’s, MDT and wider trust networks.
Caburn ward is 17 bedded acute ward.
Regency Ward is a 20 bedded acute ward.
Brunswick ward is our 10 bedded dementia ward.

Working with the MDT to ensure patients receive the highest quality care possible, including, but not exclusive to, coordinated care, smooth transitions, privacy and dignity, nutritional, spiritual and cultural needs being met
Ensuring the patient and carer voice remains heard through frequent feedback
Overseeing safer staffing levels
Empowering nurses and overseeing supervision standards
Ensuring that clinical environments are maintained at a high level of cleanliness
Supporting Staff Wellbeing and retention
Networking with colleagues across the trust to maintain good relationships
Complete an ’On call’ manager rota
Provide clinical and managerial supervision
Oversee ward budgets alongside team leaders
Engage in Quality Improvement projects and co-production
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID
We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.
