POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Manager - Operations leads a dynamic team in crafting and executing innovative HR strategies. Collaborating with business and functional leaders, they enhance performance, succession planning, leadership development, talent compensation analysis, change management, and engagement levels to align with the organization’s strategic goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of HR work experience with at least 5 years in an HR Generalist capacity
  • Previous management experience an asset.
  • Fluently bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
  • Experience working in a unionized environment with strong labour relations experience in developing relationships with unions considered a strong asset
  • Experience with influencing, establishing rapport and working with a diverse group of senior management and staff within a variety of businesses, as well as with management and staff in business unit head offices and corporate office
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS
  • Comprehensive data analytical skills

QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES

  • Plus de 7 ans d’expérience dans le domaine des ressources humaines, dont au moins 5 ans en tant que généraliste RH.
  • Expérience préalable en gestion serait un avantage.
  • Parfaitement bilingue (anglais/français) serait un atout.
  • Expérience de travail dans un environnement syndiqué, avec une solide expertise en relations de travail et en développement de relations avec les syndicats, considérée comme un avantage majeur.
  • Expérience en influence, établissement de relations et collaboration avec un large éventail de cadres supérieurs et de personnel au sein de diverses entreprises, ainsi qu’avec la direction et le personnel des sièges sociaux des unités commerciales et du siège social.
  • Excellente maîtrise des logiciels Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ainsi qu’une expérience des systèmes d’information en ressources humaines (SIRH).
  • Compétences approfondies en analyse de données.

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Workforce Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR goals, initiatives, and priorities in alignment with McAsphalt’s strategy.
  • Assess future workforce needs and organizational requirements through succession planning, talent management, turnover rate, and demographic analysis.
  • Translate business needs into short (1-2), medium (2-3), and long-range (3-5) workforce plans.
  • Develop and participate in external workforce planning programs and campaigns.
  • Proactively update job profiles and develop recruitment strategies.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Evaluate recruitment needs alignment with workforce plans.
  • Direct the company’s recruitment and selection program.
  • Work with HRBPs relationships with educational institutions for future talent sourcing.
  • Support in HRBP initiatives aimed at expediting the integration of new/diverse talent.
  • Assist in regional start-ups for seasonal workforce.

Employee Development:

  • Coordinate and facilitate employee development campaigns.
  • Analyze talent evaluation and performance reviews to identify high potentials etc.
  • Support and coach leadership/managers through performance management cycles.
  • Oversee learning and development planning.
  • Assist in determining training strategies and priorities for both, hourly and salaried.

Retention and Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Employee Engagement Specialist to coordinate the annual deployment of the engagement survey.
  • Create action plans based on the annual engagement survey to enhance strengths and address weaknesses, reinforcing the company’s position as an employer of choice.
  • Develop and implement retention and engagement programs.

Labour Relations:

  • Lead labor relations and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Participate in labor relations meetings and procedures (Standing committee, Grievance meetings, arbitration/ mediation, etc.).

Change Management:

  • Anticipate business challenges and proactively adapt HR delivery to support the change.
  • Identify and ensure the consistent application of best practices across all groups and business units.

Corporate Governance and Workplace Support:

  • Support the HRBP team with best practices and policy interpretation in collaboration with internal and external support groups such as HSE, WCB, and Legal.
  • In collaboration with HRD and Legal Counsel, mitigate legal liability by ensuring compliance legislated and contractual obligations.
  • Working with HRD, design mitigating measures by rallying all stakeholders and ensuring consistence across various business units.
  • Design and implement mitigating measures to ensure consistency across business units.
  • Monitor company-wide compliance with policies, code of ethics, and compensation philosophy.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data related to employee transactions such as leaves of absence, layoffs, recalls, new hires and rehires.
  • Present HR Dashboard to company leadership and HRD, showcasing HR metrics and trends.
