Job Title: Project Engineer (Junior-Intermediate)
Status: Full-Time Position
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

Reporting to: Engineering Team Lead
POSITION SUMMARY
In this full-time position, you will provide engineering and process support for emulsion/asphalt manufacturing at multiple facilities. You will lead various engineering projects including plant modifications, retrofits, and new construction. Your duties will include process design, engineering specifications, budgeting, and project and construction management. You will liaise with maintenance, facility managers, R&D, and quality control. You will report on various operational issues not limited to the production of quality emulsion products.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
- Registered or eligible to be registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
- 3-5 years of experience in petroleum or heavy industries process plants.
- Project management experience from inception, planning to completion.
- Technical skill focusing on process controls, piping, and tank design.
- Basic knowledge of process equipment, sizing, and selection.
- Construction and commission experience within heavy process industries.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCad (2D and 3D), and Naviswork.
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of engineering codes ASME B31.3 and API 650 will be considered as an asset.
- Knowledge of process instrumentation and automation will be considered as an asset.
- Previous experience in Heavy Industries Operation and business units will be considered as an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Defines project scopes, project budgeting and scheduling.
- Performs basic design calculations including but not limited to “hydraulic Calculations, heat and mass balances, carbon footprint and fuel consumption”.
- Produces mechanical, process and instrumentation datasheets.
- Develop procurement specifications for different equipment.
- Works with the engineering drafting develop mechanical, civil, and electrical drawings.
- Manages and coordinate process and 3D model review meetings with plant personnel.
- Provides RFQ packages, managing BIDs and technical BID evaluations.
- Coordinate of contractors, construction management, Perform PSSR, commissioning and start-up.
- Reports project progress.
- Work with local, provincial, or federal officials to acquire permits required.
- Trains plant personnel and assist updating operating procedures as it pertains to aspects of project installations.
- Provides general engineering support to plant managers and the cross-functional team as required.
- Travels to plants as required to fulfill duties regarding Capital Projects and Support.
- Continues developing applicable engineering standards and design templates.
