Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services team at the Queen Victoria Hospital as a MDT Coordinator. The MDT Coordinator is an essential part of the whole team providing high quality and prompt care to cancer patients.
The individual is responsible for the smooth running and efficiency of the MDT meetings; including preparation for meetings, tracking and chasing up on progress of cancer patients’ diagnostic and treatment steps, timely and accurate collection of cancer data, and ensuring outcomes are followed up after MDT meetings.
We are looking for an individual to join our team who is organised, has attention to detail, good inter-personal and communication skills, and is enthusiastic and proactive in their approach to work.
This is a 12 month fixed term role covering maternity leave.

Responsibilities:

Provision of an effective MDT coordination service for the specified speciality/ties
Support and deliver the MDT meetings
Maintain and update patient records on appropriate databases
Collate required data for monthly reports to monitor cancer waiting times
Proactive management and tracking of the patients’ pathways
This role is crucial in the tracking and management of all patients who are on suspected cancer pathways within the relevant disease site. The post-holder must be able to work independently and follow the policies and procedures for the department. The post-holder will be expected to use their own initiative and keep their line manager and senior colleagues informed.
This is a role with lots of variety and ad hoc demands and the post-holder must possess excellent time management and planning skills.

Ensure action plans are produced and recorded for each patient discussed at the MDT meetings (within specified time scales).
Monitor Cancer Patient Target List (PTL) on a daily basis to ensure that patients are not exceeding the cancer waiting times standards.
