The Mechanic/Equipment Maintenance Technician will maintain and repair farm machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Regular Maintenance and Repairs of Farm Machinery and Equipment:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all farm machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent breakdowns.
  • Execute emergency repairs promptly to minimize disruptions in farm operations.

Diagnose and Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues:

  • Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret technical data to understand equipment malfunctions.
  • Develop effective solutions to resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.

Maintain Records of Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including dates, types of services performed, and parts used.
  • Use maintenance logs to track the performance and reliability of farm machinery.
  • Ensure records are up-to-date and easily accessible for review and audits.

Ensure All Equipment is Functioning Properly to Minimize Downtime:

  • Regularly inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Conduct performance tests on machinery to verify proper operation.
  • Implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failures and downtime.

Train Farm Staff on the Proper Use and Maintenance of Equipment:

  • Develop training programs for farm staff on the correct operation and maintenance of farm machinery.
  • Provide hands-on training sessions to ensure staff are competent in using and maintaining equipment.
  • Update training materials and programs as new equipment and technologies are introduced.

Source and Manage Spare Parts Inventory:

  • Identify and source high-quality spare parts for farm machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts to ensure availability when needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder parts as necessary to avoid shortages.
