Description:

Novum Building Components (An AEP Company), located in Abbotsford, BC, provides professional design services, supplies engineered wood products, and manufactures roof and floor trusses to contractors, builders, and homeowners. We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent, Mechanic/Truck Driver to support our operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, our ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented and motivated, with a focus on providing a high degree of external and internal customer service as we grow our team and business!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong understanding of truck maintenance and repair.
  • Experience in driving large trucks and a solid understanding of road safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance, repair, and inspection of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Operate delivery trucks for transporting materials to and from designated locations efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
  • Maintain logs of vehicle service, repairs, and delivery documentation as per company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring secure and proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to plan routes and schedules effectively.
