You will work within a team responsible of the engineering and design of mechanical structures and components – including seismic design – in the field of nuclear power plants and other industries:
- Structural analysis and design specific to Nuclear Power Plants within the framework of new build, plant operation support and upgrade/life extension of existing nuclear installations
- Fracture Mechanics studies
- Ageing of structures and components
- Analysis/design of components (such as pumps, valves and supporting structures)
- Piping calculations of existing or new structures including supports
- Design and calculation of anchorage elements
- Seismic analysis of structures and components
- Seismic margin assessment of existing structures (SMA, SPSA)
- Seismic qualification of active components
Job profile
- You manage the various aspects of structural integrity assessment of mechanical components related to BSi, RCC-M and ASME Section III Codes for the construction/operation of new/existing nuclear power plants.
- You carry out calculations of mechanical and piping components, including classified components.
- You conduct finite element analysis for thermal and pressure fatigue evaluation of mechanical and piping components according to RCC-M and ASME requirements.
- You support our clients to safely restart their nuclear power plant units through prompt and sensible assessment.
- You assist the project managers and the client in meetings and technical discussions.
- You take charge of the calls for tender, the technical and economical comparison between bids, the awarding of contracts, the review of external studies.
- You conduct the follow-up of the contracts, including interface management.
- You write component technical specifications (performance, scope of supply and limits of supply definition, design requirements, applicable criteria to be fulfilled, etc.).
- You perform possible temporary missions in France and/or Belgium or assignments to our client’s integrated team.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Education: A mechanical engineering degree (MSc/ MEng) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Achieved or working towards Chartership (CEng)
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in structural analysis and design of mechanical components, preferably in the nuclear power field
- Skills:
o You are familiar with international codes and standards (BSi, Eurocodes, RCC-M, ASME)
o You are able to study the response of structures (mechanical and piping) under static and dynamic loading.
o You are experienced in general purpose finite element and structural design software (such as PIPESTRESS, BEAMSTRESS, ANSYS, SYSTUS…) for static or dynamic loading, linear or non-linear analysis.
o You are proficient in drafting technical documents.
o You are proficient in English language. Knowledge of French is a plus.
