Mechanical Contracts Manager

YOUR SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships & stakeholder management.
  • Good interpersonal & written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills.

YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Ideally 10+ years’ experience in M&E background.
  • Third Level Degree desirable, not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Value Engineering of projects prior to contract commencing on site.
  • Project manage a number of contracts concurrently.
  • Adequate provision for health and safety is made in planning and pricing contracts.
  • Ensuring all provisions of Company Policy Statement is executed from project inception to completion on site.
  • Organise site personnel and liaise with HR Manager.
  • Monitoring direct labour requirements and analysing quality and progress of same.
  • Organising and issuing programmes, showing labour histograms and material delivery dates.
  • Attending design and site meetings.
  • Compiling lists of variations and issuing same to consultant engineers/quantity surveyors.
  • Co-ordinating Foremen and monitoring progress and output, ensuring at all times they implement Company policy and comply with statutory requirements.
  • Co-ordinating Sub-contractors and programming same.
  • Ensure Sub-contractors are aware of Company policy and requirements, and have confirmed that they will comply with same.
  • Co-ordinate mechanical installations with other services and main contractor.
  • Monitoring direct labour requirements and analysing quality of same.
  • Issuing monthly valuations on all projects you are working on.
  • Participation in interview processes for staff.
  • Organising plant and materials for delivery and removal from site.
  • Ensure plant and machinery allocated to a site is in accordance with regulation and inspected as required.
  • Attend meetings with the Health and Safety Representative.
  • Attend meeting with the appropriate Installations Inspector and liaise with Inspector in relation to the testing of the work on your projects.
  • Attend weekly management meetings.
  • Carrying out procedures on sites and in the office in line with the Company’s ISO9001 Quality Management System.
  • The Company is an ISO 9001 registered firm. As part of the quality procedure, it may involve you in filling out various forms which are required by ISO 9001. This will become part of your every day work and therefore, Designer Mechanical Solutions Limited will ensure that you have received training in current procedures and receive further training if any procedures change. If at any time you are unsure of the requirements, please notify the Quality Manger who will help you in understanding the procedure.
  • Ensuring that all paperwork is kept up to date on all projects.
  • Monitoring costs on individual projects.
  • Attending CIF and general industry related courses.
  • Providing a top level of customer service at all times, which includes meeting and keeping to deadlines and commitments on a consistent basis.
