Mechanical Design Engineer (Client side – 13837)

REMOTE (OCCASIONAL SITE VISIT IN THE SOUTH WEST)

Nuvia is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support on one of our projects on a contract basis. You will predominantly be working for home, with site visits roughly once a month in the South West.

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for design work for piping systems which will including sizing pipework and pumps, and design work to position and locate pipework and pumps. As well as the design of mechanical and nuclear process systems, industrial gas systems, pumping stations, and mechanical ventilation systems.
You will also be involved in reviewing and processing designs produced by sub-contractors and managing the design throughout the design life cycle. This will also include ensuring safe practice and following company procedures relating to Health & Safety, Design, and Quality.

To be considered for the role of Mechanical design Engineer you should have most of the following:

• Relevant qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• Design experience with pipework and pumps in a nuclear, defence, or marine environment.
• Experienced in managing complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
• Understanding of Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership (desirable).
