Description:

We are seeking a collaborative and reliable Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Deck Machinery team. Our team develops, deliver and maintain complex winch and handling systems for a broad range of vessels within the offshore market. Currently we have a special focus on solutions within offshore wind and renewables. With us you will contribute to developing new and exciting products and be part of a highly skilled team. We are looking for candidates who are motivated and passionate about being in the forefront of technology development in the industry. We encourage recent graduates to apply. The position is in our Handling business area which owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers’ operations. The area is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritimes winches and handling solutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to developing new products, systems and concepts
  • Execute customer deliveries
  • Design and verification of winches and other handling equipment
  • Provide engineering support to activities related to manufacturing, purchase, and quality
  • Support our sales organization with solutions and offers for customers
  • Aspire to take on technical leadership roles in the future.
  • Be an active contributor to our team both socially and professionally.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree within mechanical engineering or similar
  • Competence within mechanical 3D-design, we use NX/Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge in hydraulics or structural calculation experience/competence is an advantage
  • Practical experience from maritime industry or experience from offshore marine operations is an advantage
    This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
