MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (RLMDE002)

ReLogic Research, Inc. is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated, experienced (5+ years) Mechanical Design Engineer with CAD modeling and drawing experience for a full-time position at ReLogic. ReLogic’s central focus is to continually promote a culture that stimulates personal, professional, and intellectual growth, while developing elegant solutions to tough problems. This Mechanical Design Engineer role will be in direct support of ReLogic’s efforts to solve priority problems highly aligned with our national defense strategy.

REQUIREMENTS & DESIRED SKILLS

  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to receive and maintain clearance
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience in relevant industry experience
  • SolidWorks modeling and drawing experience required
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.100, “Engineering Product definition and Related Documentation Practices”
  • Experience with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices required
  • SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) experience is highly desired
  • Finite element analysis experience is highly desired
  • Experience with aerothermal structures is highly desired
    This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hand calculations on mechanical design assemblies, calculating basic stresses and possible interferences due to tolerance stack up, accounting for thermal effects and preloads
  • Create CAD models and derived drawings of parts and complex assemblies in SolidWorks
  • Adhere to company product definition standards and revision control procedures
  • Submit, peer review, and approve drawings through the document control system in use at ReLogic Research
  • Provide material review board support on an as needed basis
  • Provide on and off-site integration support during the assembly and installation of products, ensuring design intent is met
