POSITION SUMMARY

Vertiv are seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Student Mechanical Design Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be in full time third level education where they must take a 1 year placement in industry. The candidate will be rewarded with a market-leading salary, excellent opportunities for development, and extensive support within the switchgear Product Management/R&D Department and where they will be part of the ongoing success of one of Ireland’s leading engineering companies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be enrolled in a third level Engineering course with a bias towards Mechanical Engineering
  • An understanding of Engineering Design Principles.
  • Working knowledge and experience with SolidWorks
  • Experience with MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Department Head this position presents an excellent opportunity to gain

exposure to the Mechanical design aspects of electrical switchgear and contribute to product improvements of same.

  • The main remit of the role will involve working with senior design engineers and the Switchgear Product

manager in the preparation of detailed mechanical drawings and documentation for LV Switchgear products and other support functions for this part of the business.
