Lauren Services is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer. This role will be primarily focused on pipeline systems, but with the ability for the successful individual to branch out into rotating equipment, stress analysis, and other niches as required.
The preferred individual should have a well-rounded mechanical engineering/design experience within the midstream or downstream energy/industrial sector. The applicant should have a minimum of 2 years of experience, strong interpersonal skills and working experience in a project team environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Development of conceptual and detailed 3D layouts and engineering drawings, P&ID’s
  • Create mechanical equipment component lists and materials selection
  • Prepare vendor RFQ documentation, and mechanical engineering documents (lists, datasheets, etc), for mechanical equipment
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers, project managers and clients on mechanical design concepts and drawings developing, recommending and troubleshooting effective working solutions and ensuring project successes.
  • Providing technical support to field personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of formal training and experience in engineering design and EPC projects within a midstream/downstream oil and gas field engineer setting.
  • Knowledge of typical oil and gas materials would be an asset.
  • Experience with mechanical equipment, mechanical equipment packages, piping and pipe design is an asset.
  • Must be registered as an E.I.T. with EGBC or APEGA.
  • Must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, experience with ASME B31.3, API/ASME Standards pertaining to valves, and CSA Z662 would be an asset.

SKILLS

  • Experience related to small, medium and major Projects, phase gated project processes, and procurement processes are an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers and project managers
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, Sharepoint, and Bluebeam would be an asset
