Activate Games is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are looking to expand our Research, Development, and Engineering department with the addition of a Mechanical Engineer. The position of Mechanical Engineer involves designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment. A successful applicant will be expected to participate in the creation of new room concepts and game componentry. This is a permanent, full-time position.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in mechanical engineering is required, P. Eng. would be considered an asset
- 5+ years related experience
- Proficiency with]Revit is required
- Proficiency with Fusion360 is required
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.9 drawing standards would be considered an asset
- Experience identifying appropriate machining processes and optimizing based on part attributes
- Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication
Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Design, develop, and test new products
- Recommend improvements to current design of products
- Create and implement standards for mechanical engineering projects
- Create and implement technical product specifications for engineering products to predetermined certification standards
- Make product recommendations to ensure we remain compliant with relevant certifications
- Conduct final inspection and recommend acceptance or rejection of completed designs
Manufacturing Optimization
- Ensure that designs consider mass manufacturing capability
- Ensure that designs meet defined safety parameters based on our business needs
- Design and test assembly fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems related to manufacturing machinery
- Redesign product components to minimize inefficient assembly processes
- Demonstrate ability to provide specifications and select appropriate machinery for the purpose of expanding our manufacturing operations
Data Management
- Maintain the data accuracy of our master file repository
- Analyze Engineering Change Requests and prioritize workload adjustments
