Description:

This position is with our company Airgard, which is the supplier of choice for major semiconductor companies around the world, providing Point of Use (POU) abatement (gas scrubber) solutions for deposition, etch and diffusion process tools, provides technical expertise, and delivers flawless support to meet a diverse array of our clients’ needs.
Summary
The ideal candidate will create, design, and draft product layouts, improvements and schemes using customer specification and recommendations. This individual will test products and make adjustments where necessary. Additionally, they must be organized, detailed, be able to work individually or as part of a team in a small company environment. Position is part of a dedicated team and requires hands on lab work and design reviews. Remote working is not an option.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate SolidWorks models and drawings
  • Manage changes from other Engineers and maintain model integrity
  • Work with manufacturing to define problems: solve those problems
  • Maintain Development lab. Utilize lab and test tools to develop and test system improvements
  • Operate and maintain 3D printer for test fixtures and lab work
  • Develop and implement cost reduction plans
  • Preform calculations for stress, fluid flows, heat transfer, and chemical reactions
  • Perform hands on assembly and troubleshooting
  • Perform research to determine best solutions
  • Specify material suitable for the design
  • Specify instrumentation, conduct experiments, collect data and draw conclusions
  • Organize and present design reviews
  • Develop manufacturing and field procedures
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot difficult issues or implement new designs.

Qualifications

  • MS/BS ME engineering degree
  • Solid knowledge of SolidWorks CAD tools (min. 2 years)
  • Strong understanding of materials and there uses specifically plastics
  • Basic understanding of Chemistry
  • Performs detailed mathematical analysis to prove concepts
  • Organized and capable of handling several projects at once
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and objectives when the proven ability to work under pressure
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with in depth knowledge of MS tool sets
  • Enjoys a small company environment and wearing many hats
  • Preferred: PLC experience
  • Preferred: Understanding of electronic control and schematics
