Description:
Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES:
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
- Advanced AutoCAD Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Mechatronics) or equivalent
- A solid understanding of Production methods and the practical application of design
- Knowledge of regulatory body Rules and Regulations requirements
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to provide and support the Design and Engineering of a vessel from concept through to delivery, on time and on budget. Provide output which satisfies the standards of Austal, the client and regulatory authorities.
KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Produces accurate information and documentation, which meets all procedural and auditable requirements.
- Work deadlines are met, and construction deliverables are not compromised or missed.
- Effectively and efficiently communicate through drawings, verbal, and written means to all necessary parties.
- Consistently exhibits a proactive attitude toward innovation and improvement and actively seeks alternate methods of performing tasks.
- Selection and requisitions for Machinery, propulsion, power, process plants, systems, pumps etc.
- Preparation of design and drawings including calculations and schematics.
- Vessels design in accordance with technical requirements (Specification, contract, and relevant rules).
- Design of exhaust systems, propulsion systems, domestic systems, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, fire systems.
- Austal processes for safety, quality, budget, and risk mitigation are followed and risk mitigation.
- Design support for production, commissioning, and delivery.
- Maintain an efficient filing system and ensure that all work is stored in appropriate locations.
