DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will perform a wide variety of advanced mechanical engineering duties in support of statewide corrections institutions. Some key responsibilities of the position include developing solutions to operation, maintenance, design, or construction problems, which require advanced or innovative mechanical engineering principles and methods. In this role, you are a mechanical engineering expert, and serve as project coordinator on construction projects contracted to retained professional, licensed engineers; or designed in-house.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two years as a Mechanical Engineer 2; or
  • Four years of professional mechanical engineering experience which required work on any structural mechanical system.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
