Description:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) to create detailed mechanical designs & drawings.
- Proven ability to design components for mass production using a variety of different manufacturing methods (e.g. sheet metal, machining, casting, injection molding, and welded assemblies).
- Advanced knowledge of sheet metal design and manufacturing
- Ability to apply engineering principles to the design release process (e.g. GD&T and statistical tolerance analysis)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess P. Eng designation or similar professional credentials.
- Proficiency in using simulation software (e.g. Celsius EC, Macroflow) to predict & optimize product performance.
- Solid understanding of fluid dynamics principles, especially as they relate to heat transfer and fluid flow in cooling systems.
- Experience with rapid prototyping manufacturing techniques and testing of thermal/mechanical components; familiarity with lab equipment for data collection.
- Experience with hose and cable routing in a 3D CAD environment, considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
ROLE:
Reporting to the Thermal Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of Direct Liquid Cooling products such as Coolant Distribution Units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design and development of coolant distribution units considering factors such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, sensor placement, cable management, manufacturability, and more.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and industry partners to ensure seamless integration of products into overall cooling system designs and effective project execution.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve product design methodologies, manufacturing processes, and materials selection to enhance overall system efficiency and reliability.
- Oversee the fabrication and testing of products, conduct experiments, collect data, and iterate designs to achieve desired thermal and mechanical performance.
- Create detailed engineering documentation, reports, and technical presentations to effectively communicate design concepts, testing results, and recommendations to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Perform advanced simulations and analyses using software tools to validate and optimize design concepts.
