Salary Range: $64 - $80k (DOE) EXEMPT

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Engineer coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within their area of assigned responsibility. The Production Engineer will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain quality control measures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
  • Experience in the field of mechanical and machinery design.
  • Ability to detail shop production drawings in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor (preferred) to produce mechanical and structural components.
  • Machine Design/Production drawing knowledge.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Tasks associated with this position are performed at multiple locations in non-controlled environments subject to heat, cold, dust, dirt, and loud noise.
  • Hard hat, safety-toe shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection is required.
  • This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors, climbing, bending, and kneeling, and occasional lifting of heavy objects.
  • Many tasks are repetitive with few breaks.

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • This position will require initial training at DeSHAZO’s Alabama based facilities and throughout the position as needed for understanding of processes and procedures.
  • Provides production support to the fabrication, machining, and the assembly areas.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design problems.
  • Evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Uses computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Implement quality control plans and procedures for crane manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement changes that optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality control activities.
