Description:
Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. This person will program and operate 5-Axis CNC equipment to produce stainless steel propeller prototypes for outboard engines. This person will develop machining, work holding, tooling, and inspection strategies to facilitate rapid prototyping using state-of-the-art equipment. This person will develop and lead prototyping for all areas in the marine engineering.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience machining turbine blades or other complex geometry in 5-Axis
- MasterCAM Blade module experience
- Familiarity with machining stainless steels
- Boating experience

Responsibilities:
- Programming and operation of 5-Axis CNC machine to produce propeller prototypes.
- Learn the YMC processes and procedures associated with propeller prototyping.
- Measure and document prototypes using laser scanning techniques.
- Assist with the process developments that will reduce the time needed to design and qualify propellers.
- Support prototyping initiative for the Marine Innovation Center (3D printing, CNC training, mill & turning prototypes)
- Support Marine Engineer group with product and equipment design projects.
