Responsibilities:
Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy in the areas of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanical Systems.
The Mechanical Engineer position will design, evaluate, plan, test and operate mechanical equipment and systems for commercial, government, military and/or scientific uses. The candidate’s primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Creating mechanical designs and drawings
- Writing precise calculations
- Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
- Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
- Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
This is a fast-growing program with opportunity for growth and advancement. While the opportunity for hybrid work is available candidates need to be local to attend meetings as required.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related degree
- 0 to 3 years of experience in Mechanical engineering with an understanding of mechanical systems
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one
- Experience with equipment design principles
- Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
- Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts
- Experience with documentation development including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), Bill of Materials
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management
- Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives
- Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors
- Familiarity military specifications for technical design
