Responsibilities:
THIS ROLE WILL:
- Prepare designs and develop construction drawings for HVAC and plumbing systems including engineering calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and installation diagrams, equipment layouts, ductwork, hydronic piping, domestic and wastewater piping, steam and condensate piping, compressed air, and mechanical systems controls.
- Prepare sequence of operations, equipment specifications, project specifications in CSI format, design calculations, and basis of design documents.
- Serve as a resource throughout construction by answering RFIs and reviewing technical submittals for adherence to design and applicable codes.
- Possess a working knowledge of, and ensure strict compliance with, current codes including ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, and IBC.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures for design and contribute to the development of overall design standards.
- Attend Project Delivery Team meetings to stay updated and contribute to the project’s progress.
- Conduct technical reviews for mechanical designs provided by external consultants.
- Occasionally travel to jobsites out of town as necessary to support ongoing construction and bidding process.
- Adhere strictly to Adamo Policies and Procedures to maintain a consistent and professional approach.
Kindly note: this is an in-person role based out of our Harker Heights, Texas office.
THIS ROLE MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in mechanical engineering, any state.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience in commercial, industrial, or military buildings.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate concepts and designs to others.
- Ability to communicate with project managers, superintendents, clients, and subcontractors your design intent.
- Proficient user of REVIT. This position will be required to produce drawings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
