JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineers for the Project team in Oslo
This project role is technically responsible for one or more procurement packages, in terms of compliance to project requirements, quality and HSE targets, delivery time.
The PRE collaborates within the project delivery team with PRB’s (Package Responsible Buyer) and PQM’s (Project QA/QC Manager). The role is reporting in project to their project discipline lead and to the project engineering manager.
Conduct technical Pre-Order Activities such as bid clarification meetings (BCM) prior to purchase order award, and clarifications. Participate and prepare input to the technical part of Bid Clarification meetings with suppliers. Main deliverables:
- Technical input to Procurement Strategy
- Technical Requisition (owner) Equipment Datasheet for Inquiry and Purchase Order
- Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE)
- Originate, drive resolution, and coordinate the clarification logs with Bidders – Technical
- Deviations and Clarifications (TD&C)
- Prepare a documented Recommendation for Award (RfA) based on TBE and TD&C’s
After order placement, main activities for PRE include:
- Participate and drive: kick-off meeting; inspections, progress meetings
- Supplier deliverables - for each of them: review, collect and check other disciplines’ comments, prepare mark-up, decide, and stamp the status code on the document; fill in and file relevant check lists as applicable.
- Release own assigned package(s) and prepare punch lists as needed
- Drive and coordinate closure of punch lists.
- Critically analyze comments received from Client and advise the project team regarding potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in relevant technical engineering disciplines - BSc as a minimum, MSc is preferred.
- Experience may make up for lack of formal education.
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in this role on relevant packages type and industry.
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in English language. Command of at least one Scandinavian language is preferred.
- Analytic, Structured, accurate; quality- and detail- focused.
- Strong technical understanding and experience with engineering and project execution methods
- General understanding of supply chain methods
- Conversant with IT tools such as programming languages, spreadsheets, engineering calculation software: o medium level on MS Office tools is required
- Basic level on at least one programming language is preferred
- Basic level on at least one of these tools is preferred: PV Elite, SmartPlant, AVEVA 2D E&I, HTRI
