YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

With a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Mechanical, Aerospace or Mechatronics Engineering plus 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, you will have:

  • Experience with 3D modelling CAD (Solidworks preferred), Microsoft Project, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), FEA
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and a hands on approach to work
  • Experience in engineering drawings and documentation
  • Practical understanding of plastic moulding, aluminium extrusions and sheet metal design
  • Experience in developing proof of concept and prototype level design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
  • Previous experience in NPD and end-to-end design in a manufacturing/assembly environment

Responsibilities:

Role and Responsibilities

  • Design components and accessories in accordance with design and development processes
  • Coordinate manufacturing trials and production sign off
  • Collaborate with Operations - Supply Chain on product manufacturability
  • Undertake DFM, DFX projects in collaboration with Operations, Sales and Marketing
  • Undertake design failure test and validation to ensure products meet regulatory, performance and quality specifications
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the engineering team
  • Generate compliance documentation, fitting instructions and BOM
  • Complete engineering documentation, drawing management and document controls
  • Adhere to policies and procedures re internal controls and safe workplace
  • Generate ideas and formulate solutions, liaising with the team and other department
