Description:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Ability to work in a technical workshop or laboratory.
  • Ideally previous experience in testing devices.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree.

Responsibilities:

WHAT IS THE DIRECT IMPACT OF THIS ROLE ON THE TEAM OR ORGANIZATION?

  • This role will utilise knowledge of Design for Manufacture workshop / lab tools and methods to assist a team of senior engineers and scientists in prototype manufacture and testing to ensure that can be made to deliver customer requirements, quality and cost criteria.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • To have accountability for the delivery of assigned activities across a portfolio of projects and activities within the Device Prototyping and development portfolio.
  • To hold workshop / lab expertise in operating the required machinery/testing capabilities in order to perform work you’re doing in the required time frames to contribute to the prototyping and testing of new products and technology.
  • To have the technical understanding of workstreams within the product development plan of a given project in order to deliver the work you’re doing within the required timescales and in line with product launch target dates.
  • To have awareness of standard processes and compliance using technical knowledge and broad scientific principles to ensure effective delivery of an appropriate given task.
  • To assist and work closely with the more senior engineers and scientists within the team with a focus on upskilling, personal breadth and depth of technical knowledge in skills, new technologies and device systems.
  • To have an understanding of workshop / laboratory manufacturing and testing activities, methods, and equipment capabilities to carry out assigned duties to fulfil project needs.
  • To minimise workshop / laboratory risk through raising issues with workstream delivery to the senior team roles for the purpose of gathering any difficulties and filling knowledge gaps.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all technology and compositions which ensure the uniqueness of BAT output.
