We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Director to join our successful and engaged healthcare team of building services design professionals in the UK. This is an influential and strategic leadership role, with opportunity to build a legacy and progress your career locally and nationally.
We have a well-established, proven track record working nationally and in a multi-disciplinary capacity. Our main healthcare hubs are Cambridge, Bristol, London, Basingstoke, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff and Glasgow.
As part of the WSP team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and prestigious projects in the world. WSP are currently involved in numerous projects which will reshape the healthcare landscape nationally and internationally. Although a multi-disciplinary consultancy the WSP MEP team are a tight knit group, working closely to deliver some of the largest and most complex buildings globally.

  • Be an integral part of the team’s day-to-day management, vision, values and leadership.
  • Work with NHS clients, developers, contractors and architects to build relationships and secure WSP’s position as the engineer of choice in the industry.
  • Consistently meet monthly and annual budgets at a team level, support with MEP budget planning and continuously look for ways to improve performance.
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives in the team and across the wider business.
  • Become part of the wider WSP business by sharing knowledge and technical skills with colleagues from around the globe
  • Drive profitable and sustainable projects
  • Being the client’s key point of contact
  • Be a part of the team’s day-to-day management, vision, values and leadership. Develop team spirit and co-operation
  • Understand the need to provide excellent client care & the opportunities to develop additional business for the team
  • Develop client relationships to promote new commissions.

  • A talent and passion for business development and managing large teams of MEP professionals.
  • Proven track record working as a Director within an engineering consultancy and previous experience working within mechanical engineering across a range of large healthcare projects.
  • Strong communication, analysis, and people skills.
  • Experience in mechanical and sustainable buildings design, from concept to technical design stages.
  • CIBSE/IMechE Engineering Council desirable
