Description:
PROJECT ENGINEERING STUDENT- FALL TERM
Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen potato products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have state-of-the-art processing plants in New Annan PE, Lethbridge, AB, Wheatley, ON and another in Jamestown, ND, with head offices in Dieppe, NB and sales locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineering Student for Fall Term will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, “Can Do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in College or University Program in relevant field of engineering
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Civil, or Sustainable Design Engineering
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and MS Project
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Mechanical and AutoCAD Inventor
- Knowledge of the following codes and standards would be an asset: Safeguarding of Machinery Standards, Occupational Health and Safety Act of PEI, Lock Out & Tag Out Procedures, Confined Space Awareness, and Working from Heights. General Awareness of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act & Regulations, and the Power Engineering Act & Regulations.
The Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):
- Manage capital projects from preliminary discussions to installation and commissioning.
- Provide technical support to maintain existing mechanical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot issues with existing plant infrastructure including pump systems, augers, conveyors and product transfer systems.
- Provide technical feedback on improving existing equipment.
