ConsultANZ is currently looking a Mechanical Fitter with at least 5-7 years experience to join one of our clients in Victoria.

As the Mechanical Fitter, your primary purpose will be maintaining mechanical systems, carrying out both minor and major repairs on various production equipment including fixed Crushing Plant, fixed and mobile Screens, Pre-Coating plant, numerous smaller items of plant and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant qualification - Trade Qualification in Mechanical Fitting / Boilermaker
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the similar role
• White Card
• Lock out Tag out (LOTO)
• High attention to detail and display a positive & self-motivated attitude.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong diagnostics and problem solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be able to work in a team environment.

• Establish and prioritise maintenance requirements in consultation with the Quarry Manager, Fabricator and/or Plant Operators.
• Maximise plant and equipment availability and utilisation
• Minimise downtime by performing effective maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure that mechanical repairs, maintenance, installation and modification or alteration to plant and equipment are carried out competently and satisfies internal clients.
• Demonstrate ability in mechanical fitting and turning and specialised repairs and maintenance operations.
• Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
• Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools.
• Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
• Undertake design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of minor mechanical projects
• Engage in making, fitting, and repairing of mechanical machines and parts
• General purposes welding activities - mig welding, arc welding, oxy acetylene cutting
• Provide breakdown service directly or through use of contractors
• Comply with relevant legislation and company policies and procedures on WHS and environmental safety in the workplace
