Our esteemed client is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Ottery Cape Town.
They are a leading Digital Ink manufacturing company with a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, they are seeking an incumbent to help maintain the efficiency and reliability of their production facilities
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical fitter, maintenance technician, or similar role in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, including Pneumatic pumps, centrifuges, compressors, repairing mechanical seals and other machinery to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and diagnose faults in mechanical systems, identifying issues and determining the most appropriate course of action.
- Repair, replace, or adjust defective or worn parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand equipment specifications and ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production staff to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production processes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and associated costs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance processes.
- Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment as required.
