Our esteemed client is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Ottery Cape Town.
They are a leading Digital Ink manufacturing company with a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, they are seeking an incumbent to help maintain the efficiency and reliability of their production facilities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical fitter, maintenance technician, or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, including Pneumatic pumps, centrifuges, compressors, repairing mechanical seals and other machinery to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and diagnose faults in mechanical systems, identifying issues and determining the most appropriate course of action.
  • Repair, replace, or adjust defective or worn parts, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand equipment specifications and ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production staff to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and associated costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance processes.
  • Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment as required.
