SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or related technical field
- Experience in Mechanical CAD design (Solidworks, Onshape or equivalent)
- Preferred experience in Python, C or Arduino
- Able to understand and implement mechanical processes & analysis techniques
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications
- Excellent understanding of DFM/DFA principles
- Ability to work well in a group by sharing ideas and providing solutions
- Good organisational skills, time management, prioritisation of tasks and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and documentation
- Mechanical simulation experience preferred
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
The Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for providing day to day onsite support and maintenance to ensure manufacturing volumes can be met. The successful candidate will continuously strive to improve and maintain the internationally known quality standards of products. You will also support the introduction of new products into the production line.
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis on all production assembly and test failures
- Support production through machinery maintenance & bring up of new machines required for assembly and testing of products
- Develop equipment and machine specifications
- Design and build assembly and test equipment to meet process design requirements
- Improvement & validation of new and current assembly equipment
- Participate in new product introduction activities
- Process assessment, design & development
- Process validation & improvement
- Design of assembly and test jigs & fixtures
- Assembly process flow & manufacturing line layout
- Organisation & management of pilot production runs
- Work with design teams to understand product assembly and test requirements
- Provide DFA and DFM feedback to engineering design teams
- Work alongside the Quality team to solve new and ongoing quality issues
- Collaborate on continuous improvement projects
