Description:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Mechanical / Piping Engineer to join our team in Brisbane on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and contributing to Projects in accordance with project budget, technical requirements, cost estimates, and undertake engineering reviews to ensure they are fit for purpose.
This role will be part of a close knit and proficient Engineering Team within Wood that supports each other as well as ensuring our clients receive best practice support and ensuring project delivery at the highest level possible.
- To have a full understanding of a project’s scope and deliverables..
- Development of mechanical and piping deliverables
- Assist with the preparation of specifications and technical document associated with projects.
- Provide technical input through all stages of the design process
- Coordinate the design effort with other engineering and design disciplines
- Input into construction scope of works or work packs.
- Site visits with the capability to perform field walk downs using P&ID’s, locating tie points and routing pipe through existing facilities.
- Willingness to travel and undertake site surveys in Queensland’s northern and central region
- Assist in the preparation of material requisitions and performing bid evaluations
- Quality Assurance – work within the provisions and guidelines in line with Wood’s Quality Assurance systems. Ensuring technical correctness and compliance with standard procedures and design basis
- Safety - Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures
- Candidate must possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical and piping engineering experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industries
- Chartership and RPEQ is an added advantage
- Good comprehension and application of International Codes & Standards, particularly ASME B31.3 and local AS standards.
- Exposure to pipe stress analysis. Ability to perform stress analysis utilizing Caesar II software is an added advantage.
- A committed and professional team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to establish good working relationships and communications skills both internally and in a client facing role
