Catalyx is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team and work on our customer site in Co. Cork.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
- Ability to work effectively as part of team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluent English
- AutoCAD / drawing packages
- Understanding of civil and electrical engineering aspects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
- Process design and development.
- Contribute to all phases of projects, including safety, concept development, design, budgeting, tendering, procurement, installation, contract management, and commissioning.
- Focus on engineering projects within the dairy industry, including new equipment installations, industrial building construction and modifications, equipment modification and installation, and civil upgrades and refurbishments.
- Manage safety from design through construction and commissioning.
- Collaborates with the project team to agree the design brief and schedule.
- Prepare concept designs, risk assessments and budget estimates and present them for discussion and evaluation.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers on detailed equipment layout design.
- Coordinate design aspects with the entire project team.
- Manage multiple stakeholders throughout all project phases.
- Liaise with designers or drafts person to survey job sites relating to design and to develop design drawings.
- Enlists the assistance of E/I, Control, or civil engineering support where required.
- Apply International standards including safety, quality, environment, cost and energy efficiency standards to all aspects of work.
- Ensures that engineering design calculations are completed, maintain all documents, overseeing new or updated drawings for projects or plant modifications.
- Prepares project documents - including health and safety plans, specification documents.
- Prepare, issue, and evaluate tender packs for various work packages.
- Liaises with the project team and contractors during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages.
- Ensure project timelines are adhered to.
- Reports regularly on project status, schedule and budget
