JH Kelly is Hiring an Experienced
Mechanical Project Engineer
to join our Industrial Operations Team in Longview, WA
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, and Civil Engineering degree and/or equivalent experience or education.
- 5+ years of Project Engineering experience in the heavy industrial construction industry or industrial manufacturing setting.
- Experience in heavy industrial equipment installations in refineries, pulp and paper, and manufacturing arena.
- Familiarity with Mechanical operations and/or other applicable mechanical construction experience.
- Scheduling experience and/or education.
- Solid working knowledge of Project Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Safety.
- Proficient in reading drawings and isometrics.
- Must be willing to travel as required for project sites, client meetings, and company-related activities. Travel frequency and duration depend on project demands.
NECESSARY SKILLS:
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam, with intermediate skills in Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative.
- Organized and productive with the ability to prioritize workload.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
- Learn, follow, and promote Company safety and quality protocols.
- Maintain accurate quantity tracking data and cost control reporting.
- Thoroughly review drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with the contract.
- Assist with estimating, scheduling updates, and working with material handling systems and equipment.
- Write and manage RFIs and change orders.
- Plan and coordinate work to facilitate the work permit process.
- Review construction procedures, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with the contract.
