We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the execution of a project at a client in the region of Tournai. This position is open for employees or freelancers.

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to drive the mechanical and engineering aspects of
the Quarry package under the client’s project. The role involves strategic oversight during the
study and realization phases, ensuring the integration of mechanical components with
environmental sustainability objectives at the forefront.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • More than 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, specifically in mechanicalmaintenance or project management within the mining or quarrying industries.
  • Proven track record in overseeing mechanical aspects of large-scale mineral extraction andprocessing projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of European directives and compliance with local and international engineeringstandards.
  • Fluent in French and English with excellent communication, coordination, and technicaldocumentation skills.
  • Effective communicator within and across team boundaries.
  • Ability to identify problems, devise suitable solutions, and seek assistance when necessary.

SKILLS:

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and other related engineeringdisciplines such as piping, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineering.
  • Proficient with mechanical transport systems like belt conveyors, stackers/reclaimers,crushers, and associated peripheral devices.
  • Familiarity with rotary equipment and machine assemblies

Responsibilities:

During the Study Phase:

  • Validate supplier designs for the Vaulx site.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical drawings, purchase requests, and order forms whilesupervising the procurement and construction activities to ensure compliance with projectspecifications.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with engineers across various disciplines to ensure seamless information flow and adherence to project requirements.

During the Realization Phase:

  • Manage on-site decisions at Vaulx with a strict zero-accident target.
  • Ensure qualitative contract fulfillment and participate in equipment performance tests.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of key mechanical systems, including a 2.5 kmlong curved conveyor belt, crushers, and conveyor systems, ensuring they meet operationalstandards and environmental regulations.
