ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Chartered Engineer in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable experience in a similar or relevant job position
  • Proven track record of leading a multi-discipline team, delivering safe results
  • Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of best practice, industry standards and statutory legislation
  • Proven experience of producing quality audit reports to schedule
  • Work experience in major accident hazard industries in an oil and gas environment
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to work with diverse teams and cultures
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of Mechanical and Rotating Equipment including gas turbines, diesel engines & gas compressors
  • Must be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards.
  • Must be willing to travel offshore/site
  • Capable of representing Petrofac OPO and Client to business associates in a professional manner

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific software

Responsibilities:

  • Take personal responsibility and ‘Live’ our Petrofac Values, applying them in day-to-day work.
  • Lead, manage and be responsible for a team of Mechanical and Rotating Equipment Engineers, (including Senior Engineers) as well as Graduate Engineers including goal setting and performance management.
  • Drive the development of team members to create a high performing team
  • Through the Mechanical and Rotating Equipment team provide full cycle Operational Support across the portfolio for all Mechanical and Rotating Equipment including Turbine management, ranging from day to day asset support through to decommissioning.
  • We required provide and facilitate support in areas such as studies, design and commissioning.
  • Drive discipline engineers to ensure project delivery of high technical quality;
  • Drive equipment reliability & availability with a focus on reducing emissions (Net Zero)
  • Resolve technical queries and ensure the resolution is satisfactory and ensure that all design changes are captured by the change control process.
  • Plan, budget and coordinate resources, contribute to the development of plans, schedules and estimates for the individual workscopes. Preparation of CTR’s as required.
  • Review and report job progress and cost reports regarding Mechanical & Rotating Equipment activities
  • Where appropriate, engage with and support external consultants & contractors to carry out specialist works, to ensure delivery of high quality support in all relevant areas;
  • Maintain awareness of relevant new/emerging regulations and support any consultation processes, to ensure Company is well positioned to manage any impact;
  • Foster cross discipline, function and service line relationships to deliver Company goals
  • Review best practice in and outside of Oil and Gas sector for purposes of continual improvement
  • Assist and provide cover for Mechanical and/or Rotating Equipment Technical Authorities as necessary
